Professional Experience

In 1978, I earned a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Northern Colorado. Concurrently, I began clinical practice, working for four years assisting individuals and families struggling with alcohol and drug abuse. In another setting, I provided help and comfort by counseling women in crisis.

I moved to Davis where, for 3.5 years,  I coordinated two mental health programs for the chronic mentally ill population of Yolo County. Subsequently, I worked in a variety of clinical settings, including counseling for four years with children, adolescents and their families who suffered from severe trauma.

Currently, I counsel in private practice in Davis, assisting people who manage a diversity of issues such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, OCD, Grief and Closure, life crisis, situational dilemmas, lack of confidence and repetitive non-helpful patterns of behavior.

I particularly enjoy exploring a wide range of social issues including the quality of each person’s relationships. Focus is spent on reshaping communication skills and on determining what really matters.
